I do have to say that I have been doing a half-hearted sorting job of my knickers for years. Nothing so precise as the method described above, but the knickers at the bottom of the drawer do get moved to the top of the pile of freshly laundered knickers. Nothing to do with wear-and-tear, really, just the "first in, first out" philosophy. Ken is lucky I even do his underwear. Although I will say, that they usually start out folded, but during transit from basket to his drawer they manage to lose all cohesive form and just become a crumpled bundle which is hastily shoved into the drawer. Let's just say, that once in his drawer, I give up all laundress rights and refuse to do any such sorting.
